Professionally, I’m a corporate marketing and communications executive turned marketing strategist and consultant. I’ve been an environmental sustainability consultant, a teacher, a professor, a nonprofit communications director, and an entrepreneur. I also have enjoyed volunteering with nonprofits and serving on various boards over the years.

Personally, I come from a blue collar family and moved from Colorado to Minnesota as a young child. I grew up in Plainview, a rural dairy farming community of 3,500 outside Rochester, Minnesota. I did my undergraduate work at the University of Minnesota, Morris, then completed my graduate work at the University of Notre Dame before moving back to Minnesota. I’ve lived in downtown St. Paul, West Saint Paul, Maple Grove, and now Osseo.

I moved here four years ago when I became engaged to my amazing partner. We chose  Osseo for its small-town atmosphere, a house that has great character, kind neighbors, walkable streets, a cute downtown, and more.  Simply put, Osseo is my home.

When I’m not hanging out with my loved ones, or walking my dog, you’ll find me enjoying one of my many hobbies! I love hiking and can talk all day about my favorite hikes up north, out on the Olympic Peninsula, the Grand Tetons, or the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. I also enjoy swimming, gardening, designing jewelry, reading and writing fiction, and talking about my current shiny obsession – indie nail polish.

By nature, I’m a thoughtful introvert. I’m listening, I’m learning, and I’m asking questions to find the solutions we need. I take a calm, measured approach (but I can be a Chatty Cathy once you get to know me).

Look. I’m not a politician. I’m also not a “one-issue” type person. I’m running because I see multiple opportunities to grow Osseo while staying true to our small-town roots (or tubers, I should say. Potato farmers were a big part of our history, after all!)

We need new energy and diverse perspectives to bring these opportunities to life – and I’m ready to use my knowledge, experience, and passion to make Osseo shine:

• I’m a good financial steward – I’ve run $10 million dollar budgets generating hundreds of millions of dollars in opportunities and I knew my budgets line by line
  
• I’m a creative communicator – I’ve spent 25 years crafting messages that influence legislation, create business growth, and keep people informed
  
• I’m a passionate person – I engage in causes where I believe I can make a difference, whether it’s educational opportunities for our kids, mentoring programs for future women leaders, or providing access to clean water

My vision as your Council Member is to contribute to an Osseo City Council who is passionate and engaged with fellow residents, making our city shine together through continued growth, regular information sharing, and added services.
